The use of Pyrotechnics ( smoke grenades, thunder flashes and flares ) has become common place at sporting events and larger scale public entertainment venues. The Sporting Events (control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985, makes it an offense for any person to attempt to enter a football ground while in possession of a flare, smoke bomb or firework.

ScentPro’s Pyrotechnic detection dogs can identify and locate the presence of the above-named articles hidden upon persons or within their carried baggage.

Scentpro firmly believe that all Pyrotechnics detection dog handlers should be experienced Explosive Detection Dog handlers. The powders used within flare, grenades and fireworks are essential component parts of and IED (improvised explosive device) and therefore handlers must be well versed in dealing with indications on such component parts.
